Details: | SUMMARY: Met with new owner DETAILS: Discussed the options for hooking up to the City of Sweet Home PWS. Bob and Don Beckman are interested in the city installing one large meter and a anti-backflow device on the lateral directly off the main water line leading to the MHP ASAP. They will then install individual meters at each space. This hook-up scenario is considered a purchasing water system. I discussed what that meant to Bob I.e. M/R within distribution for DBP, L & C, and monthly TC and the need for a certified operator. Bob and I discussed and revised a new coliform bacteria sampling plan. I gave Bob information on responsibilities of water systems, operator certification and training opportunities, lab list, and old map of the system I discovered on 7/24/08 etc. Bob informed me that Mr. Webb is no longer interested in being the operator for the MHP because he hates me. I gave Bob information on 3 contract operators that I know of in the area and a lab list for the State of Oregon. I informed Bob that he would have to find and designate a certified operator ASAP and inform Linn Co. Environmental Health. ACTION NEEDED: I discussed proper coliform bacteria sampling techniques with Bob and his son-in-law who is experienced with water systems and sample collection. I gave him the coliform sampling fact sheet and we discussed dedicated sample sites and how to improve upon the outside hose bibs for sample collection. Bob will draw the July routine coliform bacteria sample and the special raw water sample on 7/25/08 after improving upon the sampling sites. |
