| Details: | SUMMARY: Total Coliform MCL DETAILS: Floyd called to notify DWP that 3 of 4 repeat samples taken 12/04/08 were total coliform positive. The original total coliform positive sample was taken 12/02/08. Mr. Miller thought that it was because their chlorine residual had dropped too low (recorded as 0.02 mg/l on the 12/02/08 sample). I told him to investigate the source of the problem and that this was a Tier 2 total coliform MCL violation that required a 30-day public notice and that 5 samples would need to be taken in January 2009. He said he would take two more samples after restoring chlorine levels to normal to see that the problem had been resolved. I mailed him the "Resolved" and "Unresolved" total colfiform MCL public notice templates and the coliform health effects fact sheet. I told Mr. Miller to notify Gerry Meyer with Douglas County of the results of the repeat sampling. I called and left a message for Gerry Meyer with Douglas Co to follow up as needed. ACTION NEEDED: System to investigate the source of the problem, restore chlorine residual to normal, conduct follow-up sampling, and post public notice (only a couple of people are on-site during December). System to keep Gerry Meyer with Douglas Co informed of follow-up sampling. | ||
