| Details: | SUMMARY: water main break DETAILS: Todd Simmons of EWEB called today to notify us of a main break on 12/19/08, a 10 inch main line in upper Willammette/south hills of Eugene broke due to freezing weather. They were able to maintain positive pressure throughout the incident and fixed the break on the same day. They did take samples but Todd did not know the resuts. He mentioned that there was breif periods of time when the pressure did go below 20 psi, however they were able to bring the pressure above 20 when they saw this happen. We discussed the boil water notice requirement when psi is below 20, in this case they were able to get the break repaired quickly and issuing a boil water notice after the fact would defeat the purpose.
