| Details: | SUMMARY: alert -Nitrate DETAILS: Spoke with Joyce today on phone and let her know that we received a Nitrate sample result from 11/19/08 of 8.0 mg/L. I let her know quarterly monitoring is now required. Nitrate has been rising every year since 1999, approx. 1 mg/L a year. I asked them to check their septic system and collection system for any leaks or problems. I asked if they use chemical fertilizers, or if there are any other Nitrate sources nearby. Source water assesment says highly sensitive source due to unconfined very permeable sandy soils. Changed schedule to begin quarterly monitoring starting in 2009. ACTION NEEDED: Take quarterly Nitrate samples for 2009, try to identify source of Nitrate. | ||
