| Details: | SUMMARY: Nitrate rising since 1972 DETAILS: Contacted Nancy to discover that while they have been a water system since the early 1970s, they became official last year. Back in 1972 their nitrate level was around 3 ppm. Now it appears to reliably and consistently around 8 ppm. Their neighbors well is 29 ppm, and the Ag. Department is dealing with that. I thought this may be of interest to DWPs SWA Program, so I forwarded it on to Springfield. ACTION NEEDED: Determine how SWAP can help if at all. Or otherwise define a recourse for the water system that can help them manage or predict their well contamination. Continue quarterly nitrate sampling. |
