Details: | SUMMARY: Untreated WW into Clackamas DETAILS: I called Dave Stone who operates both the WTP and WWTP. He says they will be unable to use secondary treatment for at least a few more weeks. He notified SFWB, but the other 3 WSs were not notifiedt: CRW-Clackamas (00187), NCCWC (00580), & Lake Oswego (00457). This was a common problem 10 years ago before Estacada upgraded their WWTP-- and the downstream water purveyors just made sure their chlorine was high enough. Everyone will do that this time around with extra due diligence. All of Estacadas electrical is out-of-commission, and pump parts need to be ordered and shipped. DEQ is visiting today. This all began on 1.1.2009. Estacada normally has primary clarifier, roughing trickling filter, aeration basin, secondary clarifier, and chlorine contact basin. Only the primary clarifier is operational. ACTION NEEDED: Monitor the situation, but no more proactive action is needed. |
