| Details: | SUMMARY: Alert - Confirmed E.Coli DETAILS: E.Coli was present in a routine sample collected on December 31, 2008. Four repeat samples were collected on January 14, 2009 and all four samples were positive for coliform. Lori Heller was contacted on December 16, 2009, regarding the TC+ samples which confirm the presence of E.Coli. Lori was not sure of the source, but did indicate that a resident uphill from the well has been excavating/constructing terraces around their property. A Tier 1, Boil Water, Public Notice and a copy of the procedure for shock chloronating a well and distribution system was sent to the water system. Lori said that she was going to call the residents and post the notice. She was also going to contact Delta Lab or Oregon Water Services for assistance on shock chlorinating the system. ACTION NEEDED: Distribute boil water notice, shock chlorinate the well, reservoir, and distribution system as described in the procedure and then collect special samples to determine if Coliform or E.Coli are still present. If the corrective action works then the system will need to collect 5 routine samples in February. | ||
