Details: | SUMMARY: Response to OERS report - cars stuck in the Hood River, 17 miles south of Hood River DETAILS: I followed up on an OERS report (#2009-0303), regarding numerous vehicles stuck in the East Fork of the Hood River, approximately 17 miles south of the city of Hood River, by contacting Mike Matthews, environmental health supervisor, Hood River County. Mike was aware of the incident, and has filed an emergency press release. Mike does not think any public drinking water systems would be affected by the incident, and possible release of 20-30 gallons of fuel into the East fork. Mike thinks the only people affected by any fuel release would be kayakers and people fishing this time of year in this area. Mike forwarded press release to 2 kayak stores in Hood River. ACTION NEEDED: Mike to forward county emergency press release to DWP. DWP to provide support as necessary. |
