| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Alpine Pump did shock the entire system including well and reservoir. Asked Jeff to confirm where the last 7 years of coliform sampling have been taken. SDWIS shows an N/A on sampling site location and I suspect the samples have been drawn at the pump house like the 12/2/08 sample. Jeff investigated lab slips back to 2001 and confirmed that samples were drawn at pump house only. We discussed that for approximately 7 years the distribution system has not been monitored for coliform bacteria. There could be broken lines and/or organic build up, etc. I suggested they inspect, drain and clean the 1000 gallon plastic reservoir because Jeff does not know if it has ever been cleaned. After that they could do a heavy shock within the entire system, hold it overnight and then draw 5 more samples, one being at the wellhead 4-5 days later. If that doesnt work, then disinfection would be the next step. Jeff was concerned about years of construction at the site and having a possible broken pipe. We discussed hiring a company to inspect water lines for breaks. ACTION NEEDED: Jeff will report back to me with what option he will choose. | ||
