| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Ray told me that he took the next round of repeats on November 20, and that the faucet outside his home at 47591 Pacific View came back positive for Fecal and total coliforms again. This sample site was identified as outside faucet on the 11/18 repeats. He said that Mike Rosellini had heated the faucet with a blow torch so much that the pipe fittings inside the wall failed and ruined the wall. He had to open the wall and replumb the line. We agreed that this was probably the cause of the positives. We also discussed proper identification of the sample sites. The coliform sample plan lists the proper site name and that should be used every time. We discussed invalidation of sample sites as I had written in my letter dated 11/14/08. I told him that technically the repeat was from the same site so this sample could and should be invalidated. That being the case no more sampling is needed and no 5 routines the month following a positive is required. ACTION NEEDED: Return to routine sampling - one per month. Review coliform sample plan ASAP. DHS - Please invalidate sample dated 11/18/08 | ||
