| Details: | SUMMARY: Coliform alert DETAILS: 1/16/09 Visited system to follow up on continued coliform detection concern. I visited the sample collection sites of most common positive total coliform results as well as inspected reservoirs on this line, no problems were noted. Operator agreed to chlorinate both Upper Ferns Corner Reservoirs, and Fisher Reservoir with chlorine and maintain chlorine residual between 1.5 to 2.0 ppm for two to three week and retest. Letters will be sent to all users. Operator will also contact lab and have them culture confirmed bacteria to identify type of bacteria in sample. They will also take raw total coliform samples from both entry point A and entry point B to rule out entry points as possible sources of coliform contamination. ACTION NEEDED: If resolution can not be reached after above actions, then both Upper Ferns Corner Reservoirs, Fisher Reservoir, and possibly Fishback Reservoir will need to be drained, interior surfaces scrubbed, and flushed. | ||
