| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: I called Carolyn about coliform. She stated that the well had been shock chlorinated. I told her that proper protocol would be to submit four repeat samples wait for results and then shock chlorinate if necessary. She was confused by this. She contracts with Waterlab to obtain her quarterly samples. I called Kurt Putnam at the state to verify if she should clear the system of chlorine and then submit 4 repeat samples followed by 5 in the following month. He agreed that she should purge the chlorine from the system and have the contractor verify there is 0 ppm chlorine in the system before samples are submitted. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results of the repeat samples and provide further education to the operator about proper follow procedures for water testing. | ||
