| Details: | SUMMARY: HAA5 MCL Exceedance DETAILS: Fred Kalish and Casey Lyon, DWP, reported that the DBP sample collected on Oct 16, 2008 had exceeded the MCL for HAA5. The sample result was 0.122 mgl almost doubled the MCL of 0.06 mgl. The sample was collected at the end of a dead end line at a blow-off, which is not a representative sampling site. Quarterly DBP sampling for at least one year is now required. I called Bette Carter and discussed the sampling procedures and site she used for the DBP sample. I informed her that Stage 1 DBP samples should be collected at a site in the distribution system known to be the farthest away from chlorine application. I suggested she use a site near a dead end line, but not the blow off itself. She will use a house on Trout Creek near the blow off previously used as it s the farthest point away from chlorine application. I also reviewed the new Stage 2 DBPR with her as the system will need to comply with that rule in the future. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time. | ||
