Details:	SUMMARY: Response to Spill of Hydraulic fluid in lower Willamette DETAILS: Spoke to Paul at Ross Island Sand and Gravel in Portland at approximately 10am on 5/6/09 regarding a spill of less than 1 gallon of hydraulic vegetable-based fluid off of a barge into the lower Willamette River that occurred at approximately 11:00 am on 5/5/09 at address 4315 SE McGloughlin in Portland. Spill was collected with booms on the water surface and disposed of immediately on 5/5/09. An OERS report was filled out (OERS #2009-1010), and the Coast Guard was contacted. DWP Emergency maps were consulted, and it was determined that the nearest surface water intake was downstream on the Columbia River, far from where the spill occurred. It was determined that it was not appropriate to alert any public water system. ACTION NEEDED: No action at this time.
