Details: Called Mr. Helgesen and left a voicemail reviewing next steps following E. coli positive at source and in distribution. Advised that he will need to take 5 confirmation samples at the source. I left my number so he can return my call and discuss sample locations and sampling technique. Also advised that he inform the users of the water that because of the 3 E. coli positive results in distribution a boil water advisiory needs to be issued. Water users should know right away about boiling their water. Said I can help him with the boil water advisory. I also contacted Daniel Hough as he has been working with the system on chlorination.

Additional at 4:50 pm. Contacted John Woody (name on lab submission report). I spoke with Jonathan Woody who informed me that the reservoir was recently installed, some piping was changed near the well. They disinfected after the work, but he was not sure that it got through all the system. A couple dead animals were found in the old reservoir (rat and snake). Is right now on the way to lab with the repeat samples in distribution. I also advised that we would need 5 confirmation samples at the source before disinfecting. After that another disinfection will be done and insured to go throughout the entire system. Mr. Woody says the source confirmation samples will be collected tomorrow. I think he has one he collected today at source. The residents have been advised of the e coli issue.

7/10/2020 7 AM - received confirmation that boil water notice was completed last night and circulated to the residents. I have forwarded it to DWS Portland, just in case. Mr. Woody also sent to several drinking water services staff he has been working with.
