| Details: | I reached out to this water system to discuss their recent nitrate test results by phone after receiving ALERT: CHEM8992. This alert was generated because 50% of the MCL for Nitrate was exceed. The MCL for nitrate is 10 ppm and is based on risks associated with chronic exposure. After a day of phone tag, I emailed the primary contact for the system, as well as the active food products manager. I asked they review their notes and my notes from the previous nitrate result from this system dated 9/25/19. The system and I had some correspondence back and forth regarding the time of year to test. The system sent me a copy of the notice they are providing to employees when they clock in regarding the test result and recommendations to pregnant women and infants. The system will continue to monitor for Nitrate annually. |
