| Details: | SUMMARY: High arsenic levels DETAILS: Alert received for an MCL violation of 0.012. I spoke with Rob regarding the arsenic level. The system is located on a volcanic region and its drinking water system has reportedly had arsenic problems since 1938. I discussed with Rob possible ways for bringing the levels down. ACTION NEEDED: Reduce arsenic levels by blending water sources within the system, I.e. increasing the flow of sources with lower arsenic levels, and decreasing the flow of those with higher arsenic levels, as we discussed. We also discussed the likelihood of a filtration system being implemented. At this point the method for arsenic reduction is still being debated. | ||
