| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to chlorine spill at SUB DETAILS: Lynda Muriera (DHS Public Health Duty Officer) called me to notify me of a spill of liquid chlorine inside a well treatment house at one of the Springfield Utility Boards wells, which occurred at 2:44 pm on 7/2/09 (OERS #2009-1447). She referred me to Eugene Hazmat - Marcus. According to Marcus, there was a slight odor of chlorine from the spill, which was barely detectable. The location is at the North End of 66th Street, near Thurston Avenue in Springfield. The spill was contained within the well house, and cleaned up. There was no spill into any water body, which could lead to another water systems intake. Emergency maps were consulted. It was determined not appropiate to notify any water system, as the spill was contained. Springfield Utility Board was also consulted with. ACTION NEEDED: No action at this time. | ||
