Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform and E.coli DETAILS: spoke to Darren Glenn 4/2/09. Well #2 currently not connected to water system. Tests were conducted to see if results for nitrate would be lower than that of well #1 (nitrate currently above the MCl). Nitrate level for well #2 was 4.2. Discussed several options A) continue supplying bottled water while connected to well #1 and research treatment for nitrate removal. B)Shock chlorinate well #2 and retest for coliform Possibly connect chlorination to well #2 , shock chlorinate well 2 then mix well 1 and well 2 sources, disinfect with chlorination and retest. See if nitrate from well #1 is decreased by mixing. Gave Darren the hone number for OAWU in Silverton to discuss possible nitrate treatment. ACTION NEEDED: Water system needs to continue on bottled water until nitrate issue is resolved. Tier 1 public notice was received via fax at Lane County office 4/2/09. Darren is schockchlorinating and deciding on which option will be best for the park. | ||
