Details: | SUMMARY: Coliform reporting DETAILS: Met with Brian and Melissa to explain that according to EPA the water rules apply to their facility if at least 25 folks visited the facility 60 or more days a year. Even if signs are posted "not potable" at the toilet room sinks, the expectation is for that water to meet drinking water standard. I advised them to consider start sampling immediately for coliforms on a quarterly basis and nitrates annually and arsenic once if they are using a new well. Noted additional sampling/treatment on occasion ca be required contingent upon results. ACTION NEEDED: Sampling for coliform and nitrates. Consider disinfection options and do plan review for any modification to the system made in recent years that might include: storage tank, well, disinfection and any other treatment. Consider attending small ground water system operators training in June. |
