Details: SUMMARY: follow up actions on algae issues DETAILS: Spoke with Neal about follow up actions after toxin testing of raw and treated water returned non-detect results on 7/31. Discussed temporary emergency carbon unit which is improving odor, and need for NSF certified materials for final approval. Neal asked about options for the algae in the raw reservoir. He indicated my suggestion of skimming the top, not an option as algae filaments are spread throughout the entire depth. I also outlined the option of treating a small amount of the raw water with Earthtec, and quickly testing raw/treaeted for toxins, before treating entire reservoir. Neal will research options with vendor, and get back to DWP on City plan. ACTION NEEDED: Plan review conditional approval letter will be sent to City from DWP on carbon unit for interim emergency use. DWP to continue to provide support.
