| Details: | SUMMARY: Boil water notice issued DETAILS: Northridge Water Co has been told to issue a boil water notice today due to a complete loss of distribution system pressure. The two wells currently in use (L42769 and L22708) have run dry. The well pumps were lowered today (by 8 and 25 feet respectively) in hopes of providing adequate yield to refill the 30,000-gallon storage tank that floats on the system, providing distribution pressure. This problem is indicative of disappearing groundwater in the Shady Cover area. The problem was brought to our attention by a customer complaint. The operator has been instructed to follow the Service Outage Best Management Practices in bringing the system back online. The boil notice will remain in effect until special sampling indicates that the system is coliform absent. ACTION NEEDED: Special samples need to be collected after the sysem is re-pressurized to verify that there is no coliform present. | ||
