Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic treatment Woodburn area PWS with Arsenic problems DETAILS: System has an arsenic result over the MCL and requested assistance on treatment options and compliance. Samples collected since 12/29/04 have been over MCL 0.010 mgl. The running arsenic average 0.0124 mgl. System has been issued a Notice of Violation with a compliance schedule for installation and satisfactory operation. System contacted treatment vendors and received bids ion the 200K range and applied for SRF funds. Meet May 19 with several PWS owners/operators from the Woodburn area with arsenic problems. This was the second group meeting for the systems with arsenic problems in the Woodburn area. Attendees included representatives from Driftwood MHP, Chateau Ranchettes, Belle Passi MHP, North Marion SD, OYA, Lazy Acres MHP, Marion County, DWP and Oregon PUC. Treatment systems have been installed by several of the systems in attendance and none are working satisfactorily long term. The group is interested in finding a treatment system that will adequately remove arsenic to below the MCL on a ling term basis. I will continue to peruse treatment system installers. Belle Passi has installed an electrolysis treatment system without D H S plan review. A representative of that company was present to provide information to the group. ACTION NEEDED: As requested by the water system |
