Assistance Type: OTHER REGULATORY - Low Water, Want to use well 1/2
Reasons: Arsenic

Details: Phone contact with Garren, Delta operations notes hawks facility is low on water in the reservoir and would like to turn on wells 1 and 2. wells 1 and 2 are known to have arsenic above mcl and media was not replaced as needed to assure proper removal. facility is approved to use well 1 and 2 but will need to test blended water at entry point prior to distribution. if mcl is reached for arsenic over .01 then public notice will be provided by facility to customers regarding contaminant. facility will have to re post after 3 month if wells 1 and 2 are still in use.

noted to facility that media should be replaced earlier next year ( drc noted it tried to start process to change media in April but facility had financial issues with allowing media to be properly replaced in a time. facility is also in contact with James McPherson with sate drinking water with plan review for possible change from green sands to gfo all for arsenic removal.

facility may need to work with state through a bilateral compliance agreement to ensure proper replacement of media for facility.
