| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Gary called to say he had collected samples from the spring on 9/3/09 which were both positive and will lead to an alert. We agreed that previous history indicates that the spring had always cleared up by itself. Not this year. Construction of the collector piping is unknown but thought to be very simple. The forest service locks the spring out of service but many keys open the valve box to allow use. The Granite folks use the spring for a drinking water source for many residents there. The City of Granite has applied to USFS for a lease of the spring site so improvements may be made. Granite had posted the public notice several months ago when I visited the location with them. ACTION NEEDED: Keep aware of the actions taken by USFS/Granite. | ||
