| Details: | SUMMARY: Assistance with various system problems DETAILS: Langlois Water District operates a surface water treatment plan utilizing water from Floras Creek. The operator has a number of problems including difficult source water, old equipment and operational problems. I met with Mr Terrusa, plant operator, and toured the plant, checked plant processes and made note of plant problems and equipment. ACTION NEEDED: The system has several problems-- the most critical of being that CT time appears to be very short. I am going to help the operator design a modification of the clearwell fill pipe to optimize contact time in the clearwell, and then we will run a CT Tracer study. I will go over the State Water Quality form and calculation of CT times with the operator. I have located another chemical supplier that handles chemicals in smaller volumes that will be safer to handle. I also have a list of small changes that will make the plant easier to operate. | ||
