Details: | SUMMARY: Tracer Study DETAILS: PWS has recently activated a new membrane WTP at the Row River WTP facility replacing the existing package treatment plant. DWP is requiring a chlorine contact time tracer study as the flow has increased greater than 10%. Effluent flow meters are installed after the clearwell and after the two reservoirs. I met with Ray on 8/20/09 to conduct the CT study. That day was chosen based on the potential for high demand as air temperatures had exceeded 100 degrees the preceding two days. I also met with DWP personnel Fred Kalish and Casey Lyon on 8/5/09 to review and approve my CT study protocol. The CT study consisted of two studies. The first study measured the contact time from chlorine injection point to the first user. The second study measured the contact time between chlorine injection point and the Parshall Flume (just prior to entry into the reservoirs). Chlorine levels were measured at four points in the studies. The chlorine contact time from injection point to first user is 183 minutes under flow conditional of the study. The chlorine contact time from injection point of the Parshall Flume is 58 minutes. ACTION NEEDED: Complete tracer Study report. |
