Details: | SUMMARY: Assistance with Chemical concentrations DETAILS: The City of Seaside owns and operates a Surface Water system, which supplies approximately 6,000 people through 3,600 connections. The City treats water from the Necanicum River through a dual-train, upflow clarifier and rapid sand package treatment plant. HBH was contacted by James Nusrala with DWP. The City of Seaside was experiencing a seasonal algae bloom that contained a species of algae that is associated with toxins. I discussed problem with Mr Nusrala and researched best methods to remove algae associated with the toxins from drinking water. I attempted contact with the Public Works Director. Subsequent contact was made with Benny Davis, who reported that they had added active carbon which was working to remove taste and order problems. ACTION NEEDED: Provide assistance if requested by the City. |
