Details: | SUMMARY: Repeat coliforms positive DETAILS: Samples collected 9/3/09. Alert issued - 9/08/09 I spoke with Scott Beemer regarding the repeats. He says that he has already shut the system down to users and chlorinated the tank and distribution system. He will allow 24 hours contact time then flush the system out until 0ppm chlorine - he has a chlorine test kit. A special sample will be collected and Scott will call me after he learns of the results. I emailed Scott a tier 2 public notice template. 9/14/09 - Scott Beemer called and informed me that a special sample collected on 9/10/09 came up negative. He said the system was shock chlorinated on the 9/9/09 and completely flushed and a chlorine residual of zero ppm was determined using hi Hach chlorine test kit. I advised him that the state protocol for sampling after shock chlorination is to wait five days after no chlorine is detected. Scott says that the USFS requires four repeats to be collected at this time: I advised him to have them marked special so that they are not confused with the repeat samples collected on 9/3/09. I reminded Scott that five temporary routines are due in October ACTION NEEDED: Five temporary routines are to be submitted in October. | ||
