Details: | SUMMARY: Tree fell destroying WTP building DETAILS: RHODODENDRON (RSHA) contacted OERS at 10:53 a.m., Sunday November 22, 2009. A 200 foot tree fell over onto the water filter building. The building was destroyed-- one of three sand roughing filters and associated piping was damaged or destroyed. No untreated water entered the distribution system. The tree was removed later Sunday. RSHA will determine the full extent of damage. The building housing the disinfection treatment is undamaged. RSHA had around three hours of potable water left. RSHA issued a boil water notice. They hand delivered the notice to all residents and businesses. The water system serves around 940 people at about 50 gpm. After the boil water notices are delivered RSHA plans on bypassing the filter units and running water from Henry Creek through the disinfection process and into the distribution system. OAWU is helping. ACTION NEEDED: 1. Repair sand roughing filter #2 2. Install the Lady Creek intertie to provide ~25 gpm 3. Consider using the mobile membrane plant (~30 gpm) 4. Sample distribution for coliforms 5. Pending results anticipated on Monday (30th) or Wednesday (2nd), lift Boil Order. |
