| Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform DETAILS: Nisa, manager at the restaurant, called to report e.coli detections in the drinking water. I called Waterlab in Salem and confirmed that all 5 samples taken on 10/16/09 were positive. I contacted Pat who wanted to know what they needed to do in order to keep the restaurants open. I recommended closing the restaurants until a chlorinator could be installed and maintain a 1.0ppm residual in the distribution. Pat decided to close the restaurants immediately. They had Ecowater, Bob Thompson 503-692-3880, install a chlorination system and were reopened about 30 hours later. I got a call from Emily Gloeckler , 440-808-4411, and she mentioned she contacted Oregon water resources to inquire about drilling a new well and was told it was going to take 6 months for approval/permitting. The system is going to take 4 repeat samples including one from the well on 10/26/09 ACTION NEEDED: follow up on repeat samples and work with system and state on a compliance schedule/timeline for the system. | ||
