Details: SUMMARY: DBP MCL Exceedance DETAILS: Monroe exceeded the RAA for TTHM with their 4th quarter 2009 sample. The result was 0.0969 mg/L, with a RAA of 0.110 mg/L. Monroe has already issued public notice and will be reissuing it this week. The system has increased reservoir turnover, decreased chlorine residual, and increased hydrant flushing, but none of these has yet to decrease the DBP levels. The system recently installed a coagulant to their membrane system and has submitted the plans for Plan Review. The system now has three quarters of results for their new surface water source, and the RAA has exceeded 0.064 mg/L for TTHM and 0.048 mg/L for HAA5-- therefore, Disinfection Profiling is required. I will get Disinfection Profiling guidance to them soon, but they will not have a years worth of data for the surface water source until February. ACTION NEEDED: Get copy of reissued Public Notice from Monroe. Send them Disinfection Profiling information. Await Plan Review for the coagulant.
