| Details: | SUMMARY: use of emergency well DETAILS: I heard from Monroe on 12/9/09 that their raw water intake line from the Long Tom River froze and they were unable to produce water at the plant. So, they activated their emergency Well #1 with chlorination and pH adjustment. They plan to use the well the rest of the week until they can get their surface water line defrosted. They expect there is still enough surface water in the reservoir for this time period, but they are using the well (which will be blended in the reservoir) in case of increases in usage and for fire protection. They took a nitrate and coliform sample from the well on the 9th and the results received today were non-detect for nitrate and absent for coliform. ACTION NEEDED: Await word that the line is defrosted and the plant is running again. | ||
