Details: | SUMMARY: Contact Tracer Study DETAILS: The city of Myrtle Creek owns and operates a Surface Water system, which supplies approximately 3,500 people through 1,450 connections. The Tracer Study was performed at the South Umpqua water treatment plant. The City treats water from the river through a conventional treatment plant consisting of Flocculation, sedimentation and rapid sand filter. HBH was contacted by Sean Neghrebon to complete a contact tracer study. Analyzed CT testing data. Analysis of testing data revealed that the use of Fluoride produced results that did not properly predict the system contact time. The levels of Fluoride measured were too inconsistent. ACTION NEEDED: Redo CT testing and reconsider using chlorine as tracer chemical. |
