Details: SUMMARY: Alert ID: COLI6123 -- 2 of 5 temp routine samples collected on 2/09/09 tested positive for total coliform. DETAILS: 02/17/09 After discussing the situation with Daniel Hough, advised Terry Hinesely to collect a sample at well on 02/11/09. If the well sample is negative, then interior of the 2 storage tanks should be looked at. This would likely require specialized equipment. If nothing is seen then another round of distribution disinfection should be undertaken.
02/18/09 Shirley called and said special sample from the WH is positive for total coliform. Advised her to shock chlorinate the well and that the tanks and DIST system would need to be disinfected. Gave her HBH Consultings phone number to see what services the could offer her. She said she would call me after contacting HBH.
02/19/09 Sean from HBH called. He is planning to disinfect the system one week from today 2/26/09.
03/05/09 I spoke witih Shirley on the phone. Told her to use her DPD test kit and check for chlorine residual: once she establishes that there is no chlorine, wait 5 days to insure there is no false negative, and collect 2 special samples: 1 at the WH and one in DIST.
03/20/09 Nielson confirmed one coliform sample brought in 03/11/09 was tested negative. I spoke with Shirley and she says that 4 additional samples are submitted.
04/09/09 I spoke with Alec from Nielson. 5 more temporary routines (5 total for March) submitted on 03/23/09 and all were negative. ACTION NEEDED: One routine smple needs to be submitted in April of 2009.
