| Details: | SUMMARY: Complaint by city resident regarding gasoline products in drinking water DETAILS: I received a complaint referral from DEQ office in Pendleton. Complaint alleges that City Council is not reporting high levels of gasoline product found in city wells. DEQ had issued a press release on 1/04/2010 indicating that a clean up of petroleum contamination is planned. Dave Anderson of DEQ is in charge of the project and he had received several calls from citizens because the press release is confusing and led some people to believe that existing supply wells are contaminated. In fact, it is the old city wells that were contaminated and the current supply wells have shown ND for petroleum products since 1995, and the most recent samples were taken in 2008.
