Details: SUMMARY: Lead and copper alert DETAILS: 10/15/09 The 90th percentile value was 0.0198. I spoke with Kim at Neilson Research and per her records the sample results were, Room 14 - 0.0184. Staff room - 0.0212. Principles office - 0.0151. Kitchen - 0.00365. Gym - 0.0148. 10/16/09 I spoke with Elaine about these results. She informed me that these were first draw samples with approximately 7.5 hours residence time. 10/23/09 After consulting with the state, I contacted Elaine and advised her to initiate water quality parameter testing and to collect a lead and copper sample at the well. Public education will be postponed until the EPA revised their materials per Daniel Hough. If the materials will not be revised within 60 days, the state and county will assist with their public education materials. 11/16/09 Spoke with Kim and she informed me that on 10/29/09 a sample was obtained from the source and entry point and distribution samples were tested for pH, alkalinity, and calcium. 11/18/09 Elaine called and we discussed the 10/29/09 samples and she said a second round of water quality parameter testing would be collected ASAP. They were, Source: lead 0.00307, copper 0.0195--…EP: Calcium 40.4, pH 7.47, Alkalinity 124-- Distribution: Calcium 42.4, pH 7.28, Alkalinity 126. 12/9/09 Per Neilson, samples collected 11/19/09: Source/Pressure Tank - Calcium 38.1, pH 7.35, Alkalinity 124…..Distribution: Calcium 37.8, pH 7.36, Alkalinity 124. 12/15/09 After extensive dialogue with the state, the options are, plumbing replacement program or corrosion control and public education & consumer notice requirements are outlined in a letter sent to them today. ACTION NEEDED: System to decide on solution and meet its obligations for public education and a consumer notice.
