Details: SUMMARY: 5 of 5 temporary routines positive DETAILS: All 5 12/10/09 positive. Called operator Larry and Umpqua Lab. All 5 samples taken from homes, not frost free hydrants. Larry had recently batch chlorinated system and lab discussed possible iron bacteria showing up as coliform. Spoke with Larry and suggested draining, cleaning and chlorinating reservoir and refilling then resampling. He agreed and will work on this as soon as weather warms. Discussed public notice and Cary has already gone to all 8 homes and provided bottled water. All users are aware of the ongoing situation and using bottled water for drinking, mostly for aesthetic reasons. I will resent a unresolved positive coliform template to system. ACTION NEEDED: Wash, chlorinate and flush reservoir. Refill and resample. Need 5 temporary routines in January. Continue public notification until future samples all absent.
