Details: Called to inform water system that their routine coliform sample tested positive for coliform. Also, explained that the system would need to collect three repeat samples and a triggered source sample and report the results by August 24th (see https://yourwater.oregon.gov/schedulescoliform.php?pwsno=91133). Lawna Mohn indicated that here husband already knows what to do, but she would give her husband the message.

Called on 8/25/20 regarding positive coliform and nitrate sample over 5 mg/L. David Mohn, the store manager, was informed that he would be receiving a Level 1 Investigation letter in the mail. We also discussed that he was supposed to have collected three repeat samples and a source sample after the initial positive sample. He thought he collected the correct number for the distribution and the source. The most recent sample was reported as a routine sample so I mentioned that it should have been reported as repeat sample. He will follow up with the lab to determine if he collected the correct number of samples and also have them reported correctly. The system will also need to collect three temporary routine samples during the month of September after he completes the investigation and performs corrective action. We also discussed the elevated nitrate result and the history of nitrate at the system which has reliability and consistently remained below the MCL of 10 mg/L since 1993. Mr. Mohn indicated that the septic system was over 500 to 800 ft from the well so he did not think it was the cause.
