| Details: | I called and spoke with Dave Frank regarding Columbia Acres Water Association's Nitrate sample result above half of the MCL, slightly over 5 mg/L. I told Dave that they're required to continue sampling quarterly for Nitrate, but they have been sampling monthly, which of course they are allowed to do too. One issue I brought up is that the entry point on the system shares 2 wells, one of them being listed as "unapproved". Dave said both wells are about 25 feet apart from each other and draw from the same aquifer. He says that historically, the system had been working on getting the other well 100 feet away from the approved well, but that in order to do so, the people in charge of a neighboring property would need to grant an easement which was apparently denied. He says this has been an ongoing situation that they have been working on. |
