Details: | SUMMARY: CTs not met on 4/11/10 DETAILS: Jim called at 11 am on 4/13 to report that Corbett did not meet CTs on 4/8/10. The chlorinator was down early 4/7 due to the pump not working. At this time the plant was shut down. The chlorine pump was fixed, and chlorine levels began to go up and the plant was turned back on later on 4/8. However the slug of water that was not chlorinated enough on 4/8, did not meet CTs on 4/8. Levels of residual around 1.5 mg/l in the system during this time. I mentioned to Jim the imortance of verifying CTs daily and contacting the DWP immediately, and gave him the OERS number for after hours/weekends. ACTION NEEDED: Jim to post tier II public notice and send a copy to DWP. Jim discussed moving chlorine residual meter from after clearwell to before to be able to detect low chlorine readings quicker. I relayed over the implications for CT determination if this change was made, to ensure that chlorine residual readings for after the reservoir are used for CT achieved thru the clearwell. I explained that this method is more protective, given chlorines dissipation as flow proceeds thru the system. DWP to continue to provide support as Corbett calculates CTs daily for compliance. | ||
