| Details: | SUMMARY: Inspected Spring Source and collected source sample DETAILS: Amy Baker and Gary Burnett of DWP met with Dave Motanic with USFS on-site to inspect the spring source and collect a raw water source sample. A water system survey was also completed. The system has had several total coliform positive samples in recent weeks. The spring source area is in good condition, and no sanitary hazards are present. A raw water source sample was taken from the spring box overflow. It was recommended that a sample tap be installed in the spring pipe above the box to capture direct spring water (or the pipe can be disconnected temporarily to take the sample). After sampling, calcium hypochlorite tablets were placed in the spring box using a sinking containment device. This yielded a 0.7 mg/l chlorine residual in the distribution system. The Hermiston School District had an outdoor school session going on this week. ACTION NEEDED: Source water showed total coliform present. 5 Routine distribution samples to be taken in May. | ||
