| Details: | SUMMARY: On site visit to review operations DETAILS: Amy Baker and Gary Burnett met with David Sanders, operator, Darrell Hale, mayor, and Toni Thompson, recorder. Toni Thompson, retired city recorder, is still acting City Recorder until a replacement can be found. We inspected the slow sand filter plant and treatment operation with David Sanders. The City had experienced a transmission pipeline break in April in a section of line that is AC pipe. The chlorine solution pump had failed in April, but David had maintained a chlorine residual by batch chlorinating for one day until the pump was repaired. He consulted with Jason Green, DRC by contract when the failure occurred. He has been maintaining a chlorine residual in the distribution system of 0.5-0.7 mg/l. ACTION NEEDED: DWP to review use of copper sulfate for algae control. | ||
