| Details: | SUMMARY: Distribution System Replacement/Funding Assistance DETAILS: The system is a small community run water located east of the City of Astoria. The system has 108 connections and serves approximately 315 people. The water system purchases water from the City of Astoria. The First User in the system is the first user for the City of Astoria’s water system. HBH was contacted by Kurt Krusick a Board Member for the Burnside WA. The Association is currently planning the replacement of approximately 9,000 feet of old asbestos cement pipeline. These pipes are to the source of an increasing high number of repairs, which the Association feels is related to their age. The Association is currently seeking funding for the pipeline replacement project. Melanie Olsen with the State of Oregon infrastructure Finance Authority recommended that HBH be contacted to provide general funding assistance. I met with Mr Krusick and Richard Anderson, operators of the water system, to tour the water system. Provided general advice concerning the location of proposed water mains, as well as potential construction and permitting difficulties the project may face. Provided advice to Board members regarding the funding, plan review and construction process that they would be undertaking. ACTION NEEDED: Provide funding application assistance if requested by the water system. | ||
