Details: | SUMMARY: Positive coliform for April DETAILS: Spoke to Frances today late afternoon regarding five temporary routine samples submitted in April. Three of the five samples are positive. The system has been working with a leak detection service to locate possible water leaks in distribution lines. The only leak that was detected was from a toilet inside a residence. The last tests indicated the well was tested and came back negative. I instructed Frances about the different between repeat samples and temporary routine samples with regards to well testing and triggered source water monitoring. It was too late to submit a fifth sample to make up for the well sample in the temporary routine sample for April. I explained that a violation would post for not submitting five distribution samples. The storage tank has been shock chlorinated on 5/4/10. The chlorine was left over night and the system is being flushed today. Five temporary routine distribution samples will be submitted when the shock chlorination has been completed and the system is clear of chlorine. I spoke to Frances about waiting to submit a public notice until this is finished. I have scheduled a system survey for May 12th. The system has not been surveyed since 1990 ACTION NEEDED: Continue to monitor testing and complete a survey | ||
