Details: | SUMMARY: Contact Tracer Study - Combine Flows Analysis DETAILS: The City owns and operates a Surface Water System, which supplies approximately 6,000 people through 3,600 connections. The City treats water from the Necanicum River through a dual-train, upflow clarifier and rapid-sand package treatment system. HBH was contacted by Bed Davis following the receipt of requirements resulting from their most recent Sanitary Survey. Among the requirements were contact tracer studies at the various flow rates. I evaluated CT tests that were completed at the various flow rates to determine if a linear relationship could be determined for use by the WTP operator in determining contact time. It was determined that the relationship was not linear, possible due to increased mixing in the contact chamber caused by higher flows or by the intervals of clarifier washes during testing. ACTION NEEDED: None needed at this time. |
