Details: | SUMMARY: LT2SWTR Additional Treatment Requirement Investigation DETAILS: The system owns and operates a Surface Water system. The District supplies water to 375 full-time residents through 750 connections. This includes services to the communities of system and Cape Meares. The high number of second homes accounts for the low resident to connection ratio. The District treats water from Short Creek through a packaged rapid sand filter plant. Water is pumped from the clearwell to two separate reservoirs. The system recently was notified that they exceeded the e-coli trigger level that would require the physical viability of installing additional source water monitoring for Cryptosporidium or the installation of addition log inactivation/removal treatment to remain in compliance with the LT2ESWTR. HBH was contacted by Mr Tuckey for assistance with this matter. I met with operator onsite to inspect the existing water treatment plant configuration to determine the physical viability of installing additional treatment. Discussed available options for source water monitoring with Mr Tuckey. Researched UV systems that were approved for additional log inactivation and repaired cost estimate and report for the system for the installation of UV treatment. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist system as requested on this matter. |
