Details: SUMMARY: Lead and copper corrosion control DETAILS: Letter sent regarding systems interest in installing corrosion control due to the source water having a low pH. There are a few considerations when choosing the type of treatment for your system. Soda ash or potash are most often used for your type of system but are not typically recommended for systems with a DIC over 25 mg d/l. Caustic soda is very hazardous if not handled properly, it can cause severe burns and damage to the eyes. These are options to consider, but there may be other acceptable methods for corrosion control. I encourage you to investigate other methods for achieving corrosion control. ACTION NEEDED: Submit written recommendation for corrosion control method.
