Details: | SUMMARY: Ongoing coliform issues DETAILS: Conducted system survey 5/12/10. The operators reported they are going to have the holding tank cleaned by a professional contractor. This will most likely happen prior to 5/31/10. The tank has black sand in it and also has a weeping leak that will be repaired. The operator is aware that five temporary routine samples are to be submitted prior to 5/31/10 and they are to be distribution system samples. Once the cleaning occurs the system will be shock chlorinated. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. If not I spoke to the operator about the installation of chlorine. I did tell him that plan review would be required prior to installation. Mr. & Mrs. Ramsey were provided with an Emergency Response Plan (ERP) for small systems template, protocols for other operators template and guidance documentation for preparing a operations and maintenance manual. I instructed Mrs. Ramsey to wait until after the cleaning and shock chlorination occurs to submit a public notice for May, they could submit a resolved public notice if the system tests clean after these actions are taken ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results of temporary routine samples for May after cleaning of the holding tank occurs. |
