| Details: | SUMMARY: Arsenic Exceeding MCL DETAILS: System operates a small distribution system that serves 31 connections and approximately 45 people. The system is composed of a single well that feeds into a small treatment system, to remove particulates and other elements before the distribution system. The existing treatment consists of a water softening system followed by activated carbon. The moorage distribution system feeds docked houseboats and boats. The water system has exceeded the MCLs for Arsenic. HBH was contacted to provide assistance with developing a treatment system or other strategy to deal with the arsenic issue. I reviewed chemical test results. Based on physical and chemical makeup of raw water, along with specific site conditions, I recommended available strategies for removal of arsenic from the drinking water. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist system with arsenic removal as needed. | ||
